Golden Clear Lozenge
A warming herbal lozenge made with turmeric, fresh ginger, and xanthium fruit. In traditional East Asian medicine, these three herbs are used together to help clear phlegm from the head, throat, and chest.* Each two-lozenge serving delivers 1.2 grams of concentrated herbal granules, equal to about 6 grams of raw herbs, in a slow-dissolving, honey-sweetened lozenge.
A warming formula, made easy to take
Golden Clear combines three herbs with long histories in East Asian herbal medicine, blended in equal parts. We make each batch by hand in small runs, using an isomalt base and a honey slurry. The lozenge dissolves slowly, so the herbs stay with your throat as you take them.
Herbal formulas usually come as teas or powders, and many people find those hard to take every day. We developed our lozenges so your herbs are easy to carry, pleasant to take, and simple to stick with.
Traditional uses
In traditional East Asian medicine, Golden Clear is used to:
- Help clear phlegm from the head, throat, and chest*
- Support open, comfortable nasal passages*
- Warm the lungs and support healthy respiratory function*
- Support the body's natural defenses during seasonal changes*
- Help clear phlegm and post-nasal drip during allergy season*
- Support comfort when exposed to dust, pollen, or pet dander*
- Help ease the heavy, full feeling in the head that comes with phlegm*
- Support comfort with the clear, watery nasal drip that comes with cold air or cold weather*
- Help clear the morning throat phlegm many people wake up with*
In East Asian medicine, this is a warming formula. It is traditionally chosen when phlegm is clear or white and the person tends to feel chilled. If you tend to run warm, or you're not sure this formula fits you, ask your practitioner.
The herbs
Pian Jiang Huang (sliced turmeric rhizome). A warm, pungent herb traditionally used to move qi and blood and to ease stiffness through the upper body. In this formula it adds warmth and circulation.
Cang Er Zi (xanthium fruit). In East Asian herbal medicine, this is the classic herb for opening the nasal passages and dispersing wind and cold from the head. We use the traditionally dry-fried form, which is the standard preparation for safe use.
Sheng Jiang (fresh ginger). Warm and pungent. It has been used for centuries to warm the lungs and stomach, support comfortable digestion, and harmonize the other herbs in a formula.
How to take it
